From 15th to 20th October 2019, Sofitel Saigon Plaza presented the first All Women Cheffes culinary festival in Vietnam as part of the annual Saigon Gourmet Week, featuring three Michelin-starred and six celebrity Cheffes.
The highlight of the culinary festival is the Gala Dinner with Cheffes Battle, which is also an Accor Plus member event, held on Saturday 19th October 2019 in the Diamond Hall. There were around 40 Accor Plus members attending this event, some of them are Platinum members such as Mr. Adib Kouteili, Director of PEB Steel.
All Cheffes led teams of local female talents to prepare the main course for 130 guests using ingredients from a secret box, complementing the four other courses crafted by the hotel’s Executive Chef Stephane Leforestier. The ingredients in the secret box of this year are Foie Gras and Veal.
The Cheffes Battle was judged by Ms. Julianne Cowley – Australian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh; Ms. Joyce Ong, Vice President Communications & CSR – Accor: Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia and the Maldives; Ms. Winnie Lam, COO of Colliers International; Ms. Nguyen Phi Van, Chairwoman of Saigon Innovation Hub and Vietnam Angel Network); and Ms. Trinh Diem Vy, Vietnamese cheffe, restauranteur and author who also acts as the judge of Top Chef Vietnam.
The winners of the battle were Michelin-starred Cheffe Julia Komp* (Germany) and Celebrity Cheffe Anne-Cecile Degenne from Raffles & Fairmont Makati (France) with their creative and beautiful dishes: Roasted Veal tenderloin with vegetables flavoured.
Definitely, members enjoyed a memorable night with the best food, wine and service together while being given the opportunity to watch chefs’ creative talents live. As a co-organizer, Accor Plus is proud to bring special experiences to members that “money can’t buy”.
